Great Moment In Black History: Eminem's Durag
Don't worry fam I know exactly what y'all see when this man pops up. GOAT!!!!! That alone is enough to describe dudes career. You don't even need a biography or his Wikipedia page to know Em's struggle when his discography is the most detailed and honest of any rapper and probably artist period. This isn't about his music or life tho. This is about how down for the culture Eminem truly was.
A durag is a one of the most prized possessions for a black man, right next to his Murray's Superior Hair Dressing Pomade. Those two items in conjunction with a barber makes a black man dangerous. When done properly a black man feels like he is the best looking man on the planet. As soon as he gets out of that chair and sees how on point his waves are, it don't matter if he in a relationship or not. The FIRST woman he sees about to get approached and forced to hear dudes lamest pickup lines.
Yeah, he knows he striking out with the woman but he don't care because he feeling like a 6'5 light skin basketball player.
Anyway back to Shady. (Don't see how you're "shady" when you so pale but I don't judge.)
It is physically impossible for Em to develope waves. Like no matter how long he wears that durag, no amount of Murrays, or brushing is gonna put waves in that man's head. But that boy Shady didn't care. That's how down for the culture he was. He respected the culture so much that he didn't care because he wanted to be apart of it and boy did he. Not only did he become apart of it, he mastered it and made Hip Hop his main chick, mistress, and girlfriend.
Now I'm not saying it is because of the durag that he was able to do it and become accepted by black people, but I have yet to see Macklemoore with a durag on and we all see the slander he getting.... Then again Macklemoore ain't give us "Stan" so that could aslo be the reason.
Anyway their is not only power in the durag but the durag is power. Don't let anyone tell you different.
